About me
Raised on the shores of Tampa Bay, Bethan has always had a deep connection to Florida’s waters. Her career began at the Florida Museum of Natural History in the Florida Program for Shark Research. She later conducted field research with the US Geological Survey and UF Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences. As an Environmental Science and Biology teacher at Buchholz High School, she enjoyed sparking curiosity and critical thinking through experiential learning. Bethan now unites her experience in aquatic ecology and science education by leading the Fishing for Success program, which engages thousands of participants annually in outdoor field trips, workshops, and public events, inspiring the next generation of scientists and environmental stewards.
